Why We Built This

Campbell Aging Resources was created for people in the Coachella Valley who are trying to navigate aging, caregiving, housing, health care, and support systems without getting lost in the process. Our work is especially mindful of women and lesbians, while remaining useful to anyone who needs clear, grounded local information.

Who We Are

Patricia Campbell, MSW, LCSW

I’m a California native and Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has spent nearly four decades working as a psychotherapist, hospice and end-of-life consultant, and psychospiritual counselor. I earned my Master’s degree in Social Welfare from UCLA, and throughout my career I’ve accompanied individuals and families through some of life’s most difficult transitions, including grief, caregiving, serious illness, trauma, and loss.

My approach has been shaped not only by professional training, but by lived experience. Losing my father suddenly at age 15, and later becoming the primary caregiver for my mother during her terminal cancer illness while still in my early twenties, profoundly shaped my understanding of mortality, resilience, and human connection. Those experiences ultimately guided the direction of both my life and career.

Across hospice care, psychiatry, and community mental health leadership, the most meaningful part of my work has always been helping people rediscover a sense of hope, connection, and emotional grounding during times when they may feel isolated or overwhelmed.

Cynthia Campbell, MA

With a master’s degree in counseling psychology and over a decade of administrative and hands-on leadership in senior services, I bring both professional training and deep community experience to this project. As the former director of the City of Glendale California's Shared Housing Program, I designed and managed key housing initiatives, oversaw grant writing and community outreach, and co-founded the city’s annual Senior Fair and Senior Olympics.

From nutrition and recreation to complex case management, my experience spans the full reality of elder care. I have worked directly with low-income families navigating federal housing bureaucracies, created a dedicated moving assistance grant for seniors in financial distress, and supervised case management teams at a major Los Angeles senior center. My coordination of emergency housing during the Northridge Earthquake earned a Governor’s Certificate of Recognition.

Parallel to my professional career is a lifetime of grassroots advocacy. This includes early volunteer work with the LA Gay & Lesbian Center’s youth pen pal program and talkline counseling, as well as preserving community history at the Mazer Lesbian Archives in West Hollywood.

This hub is the culmination of that work, designed to ensure the women and lesbians of the Coachella Valley are never overlooked by the systems meant to support them.
